Is my social worker doing enough?

I am looking for advice concerning my social worker. We completed our homestudy in February. She has only contacted us 3 times and then only when I call first. How do I know she is actively looking for a child for us. Is this typical or should I be bugging her all the time?

Exclamation squeeky wheels get the oil!

Best advice with SWs call every week and 1/2 and to see how things are going.
If they have e-mail, e-mail them every week.

See if they will let you have a copy of your homestudy. If they will mail it to every county in your state with a cover letter about your family and type of child you are waiting for. It would not be a bad idea to do this even if they won't give you a copy. Just state you have a current homestudy with such and such agency and give contact info.

Sometime you just have to wait. But at least sending out the letters you know everyone has heard about you being out there.

Thanks, I knew that there had to be a way to get our homestudy in more places. It makes the waiting easier if I am doing something.

No, I am in Michigan. This seems to be a common thing with social workers. I guess that I just have to learn to be more patient.
