Hello. I am new here. My husband and I are thinking about adopting. We are americans living in South Africa and would like to adopt a South African child. Can someone clarify on if this is currently possible and/or some of the challenges? Any Americans out there living in South Africa having adopted South African children? Would love to hear from you. We are going to talk with a social worker on Thursday, but, well - I am feeling anxious based on some other information I have seen on the Internet.

We are South Africans living in South Africa and are trying to adopt a caucasian baby. This is extremely difficult and we are now considering the very expensive International option. If you want a black or mixed race baby you can just contact Child Welfare and you wuill have a baby very soon. Good Luck.
