Question-My Ability To Foster
In 1999 after the birth of my 4th child and a divorce I was in my home late at night with my significant other.
My exhusband came over high on drugs broke and beat up my then boyfriend. DSS was called and I was offered services. (child care) If I was offered services during their investigation am I barred from adoption or foster care?

It depends on your states rules. In my state the background checks are only done for the past 5 years. It also can depend on the circumstances for the services offer. You can also appeal a decision if you feel you have changed the circumstances that brought you to social services attention.
