My son and his soon to be two year old daughter live with me..They've lived here since the child was 14 months old....childs mother decided she'd rather live the single life, without a child to worry about on a daily basis.??? We see her (she lives 300 miles from us), approx. once every 7th-8th weekend, when she comes to see the little girl for a total of 8-9 hours total in two days.
We never hear a word from her in between times.... I'm curious if she even loves this child???? Can anyone here relate to this??

Hi,
I know it's difficult to understand a parent who is not 'there' for her child. We all know how difficult it is to be a parent, to put oneself after the welfare of our children consistently and lovingly. I think some people who become parents have never know real unconditional love themselves and are either too immature or have not had modeling for parenting. Then again, their are fantastic parents who also never had these things. So we are grateful to foster and adoptive parents for being able to care for other people's children. NancyNic |
