I started the process back in Sept. I attended the required courses, submitted the required paper work and I must say I was so interested and involved with the process, on dec 19 when I received a letter from the agency I am working with approving my application to adopt I couldnt belief the first step was final. I now await a child placement which is so exciting. I also am providing respite care for foster families in the mean time. I have been silently reading the posts on the boards though out the process and have pulled alot of good information from them, Thank you all for so many good ideas. I entered the process with a moderate sense of anxiety from all the horror stories and warnings I have read and heard about single people attempting the adoption process. I now have no anxiety or reserve. I would like to wish everyone attempting the process the best of luck and pray you should find the right people to work with you to make this an enjoyable process.

This is wonderful. I am sooooo happy for you. it is wonderful that you have had such a smooth process. I too am single and wanting to adopt. Tonite I got the phone call that someone would be calling me on Friday to start the actual homestudy process since all the paperwork has gone thru plus I will finish my classes by mid-February. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for me.

I wish you the best of luck Lisa. It is such a great feeling knowing my dream to parent a child is so much closer. I recieved a call yesterday to review a child for placement and I have accepted it so ZOOM ZOOM it all seems to be falling right into place. Again BEST OF LUCK!
