Several options

You should contact local agencies that place waiting children. Internationally, many countries have broadened their age requirements. Contact the International Concerns for Children in Boulder, Colorado(303-494-8333). They put out a Report on Intercountry Adoption which lists all of the current programs and their requirements. Also, look at the website RainbowKids.com. I'm sure if you are determined you will find the child that is meant to be yours. Good luck!

Try Kinship Center

Mina,

I know it's been a while since you wrote your message, but I hope you're still checking the board. I'm a single woman, now 51, and I adopted my son through Kinship Center in Orange County. I was very pleased with their orientation, classes, and support services. At the very least, call and go to one of their orientation meetings - you'll get a *lot* of information! They are located in Santa Ana; their number is (714) 979-2365.
