Need resources for single parent adoption in my area.

RE: resources for adoption in my area

Kristen: I just now found your message, and do not know what progress you may have made in finding resources. I, too, am in Iowa, planning a single parent adoption. So far I am with the IA DHS Kidsake project, but am looking at other options. Lutheran Social Services told me if I am open to a child of any race they could place a baby with me. Fee is $10,000. Contact their Council Bluffs office. A friend on another Single Adoptive Parent list has told me about Summit Adoption Home Studies, in St.Paul, MN. Their fee is $2100 for paperwork, homestudy, helping to search, follow-up visits. She was highly impressed with them!! There may be other costs if you find a child on the Net, etc. Hope this helps! Kathy
