Are There Gay/Lesbian Adoptions in North Carolina?
Hi, I'm a journalism student at UNC-chapel Hill, and I'm researching a story on adoption laws, options, and social issues concerning gay and lesbian couples in North Carolina and in the US. Do many states permit adoption by same-sex
couples? Is it up to state statutes or federal laws? Where could I find stories on same-sex couples who have successfully and unsuccessfully adopted? How do most adoption agencies (are they regulated by state government agencies?) deal with same-sex couples who apply for adoption? Thanks for your time

laws are not uniform

Laws regarding adoption are NOT uniform from state to state and I wouldn't attempt to answer your question. Your best bet is to search the various g/l sites and see what they are saying in answer to your query.
