Hello single mom here
I thought I would introduce myself. I adopted my daugher from Guatemala. She has been home since January and is my everything.

About Me: Oct 14 08- TX DPFS Orientation Nov 8- Dec 20- PRIDE Class Jan 6 09- Finger Prints Jan 31- Drug Handling Class March 11- Home Eval Meeting April 1- CW admmits to having lost file, having then found file, and having turned it in today. April 1- Behavior intervention class April 2- Homestudy Call April 7- Final Homestudy Meeting May 1- Homestudy sumbitted to state of TX June 4- APPROVED! July 2nd-Submitted interest in R (7) July 7- Recieved HESGH Aug 12-RAS (rep'ed by my old PRIDE trainer) Aug 13- Selected to be Mom to R (7 yr old girl!) Aug 18-Read File (both boxes full!) Aug 20- start pre-placement communication Aug 28- no visit/come home Oct 20 09- Finalize!

Enjoying the fact that I will be a speech therapist stationed at only ONE school this year!!!!! 11/1/08 Attended Fost/adopt Orientation meeting 12/4/08 Initial Interview  1/8/09-3/26/09 PRIDE classes 3/9/09 Home inspection scheduled--passed! 4/16/09, 5/12/09 Homestudy... 5/20/09, license comes in the mail 6/1/09, homestudy officially approved (unknown to me  )6/3/09, received a  call; after disclosure meeting had to decline  9/29/09, potential match; waiting for full disclosure meeting 10/6, appears relatives applied for ICPC current status: I think it's back to the 'drawing' board.

Another single mom here. I'm about to finalize the adoption of my 18mo old fs. He's been with me since he was 3mo old. And I live in TX too!!!

I am a single mom to one darling daughter who is my true joy. I am thrilled to be here and happy that we have our own little place.

Aug 2007 started fertility treatments Dec 2007 gave up and started thinking about adoption.  Feb 2008 started MAPP Classes April 2008 started private adoption process. June 2008 Homestudy complete. July 2008 Officially Waiting  August 2008 Got my darling baby five days after she was born. God is truly amazing it was only a two week wait.

Quick question
Mornin everyone.......
For those who parent more than one how do you do it? I am a single momma of one and I just can't imagine having another one.....its been kinda hard. HOW DO YOU DO IT PEOPLE? I should also mention i am over 40 and maybe that's why i have no extra energy? please share.

I have a unique situation that isn't suitable for everyone. I share a house with my parents. I have a full house/apartment in the basement and they have a full house upstairs. They are retired and watch my kids when I am working. It took some getting used to, but works out great for us! If I didn't have my current living situation, I would have to have a live-in nanny because I am on call some evenings and weekends.
