I have already posted this on a few sections of this forum but I just wanted to do it here too since I am a single mom. I received my referral today!! At 3:37 am! I have a little girl born December 9, 2004. I am adopting from Ethiopia. Today was a good day!

Congratulations on your referral. I am single and recently I received a referral in Kazakhstan. Although I have been working on this forever (a little over a year) the referral was the first time that I really felt that maybe I could give into hope that it would happen. In Kaz referrals are not formal because they require a bonding period and that you meet multiple kids to make sure you have a good fit, but it was really incredible to get that far.

Yesterday I got notified about a mid-August travel date and now I have a huge combination of incredible bliss and panic in the streets .

I hope the rest of your process goes smooth and you get to bring your new child home soon.

I can not even believe how quickly this all seems to be going now. I got a call from my agency today and they let me know that my paperwork has been submitted to the Ethiopian courts today and my court date is July 26th!!! Just one week away. Looking at a possible travel of date of the end of August. I can't believe that I will be off for Africa to get my daughter in just about a month!!
