sibling adoption
My wife and I have two adopted children, an 11-year old boy and an 8-year old girl. We are thinking about adopting siblings from Russia, 6-10 years old. We are concerned about the bonding challenges between the new siblings who speak a different language and our siblings. Does anyone have any direct experience that they would be willing to share with us?
Thanks |

jeffery, I don't have any experience with that, but if you haven't seen this site already, you'll want to check for the answer to your question here:
http://www.olderchildadoption.com/ The person most "in charge" of this site adopted her daughter from Russia at the age of 8, I believe. So the site is both for issues pertaining to adopting "older" children as well as "foreign" children. Somewhere in that site is a bulletin board like this, too. Many of those people have returned to overseas contries to adopt multiple children and they should be able to say how the sibling bonding was for them. I hope it helps! |
