Talking Hey friends

just checking in to see how everyone is doing. we still have our 3 sibs.....not much going on yet. their bdad is still in jail....was transferred/sort of released from his last jail where he completed his time. he was transferred to another jail relating to the deportation issues. as far as we can gather, he will be deported, but we don't know when. cw has talked to his lawyer to see if bdad will sign over rights....haven't heard what his response is. lawyer apparently wasn't in any big hurry to talk to him, go figure. so we still wait and wait. we go to court again dec 1st, so hopefully at that time they'll file for tpr against bmom. she's still not shown her face. been since early april. we are starting month 10!! so hard to believe they've been here this long!
can't remember if i posted that we opened our fourth spot to an infant.....he's now 2 months old. we've had him for 9 weeks....since he was 3 days old!! he's grown so much and so stinking cute! he, however, may be leaving next week. we are waiting to find out paternity/dna results. if the alleged father IS the bdad, he'll move directly to him. so we hate to see him leave, but have definitely enjoyed him!!
hoping all is well with you and your families....update!!!

Hi Lankin,

Glad to hear that things are going well for you. We're still waiting. We put our names in for a sib group of three, but there seems to be a fair amount of interest in them, and we know that most workers will not consider us as a first choice if there are other applicants (two parents working outside of the house and three bio kids, the youngest being almost 2). Oh well, we'll be going to a waiting children day in our area in about a month - here's hoping!

Waiting for decision on a boy/girl sib group (3 & 4), a sib group of two boys (8 & 9), a teen boy (14), and on J (11) that we were matched with and then told we probably won't be able to have after all.

Good luck Dawn! Hope there are some possible kiddos there! I have never been to one of those events, but a friend of mine who adopted has. She said its so sad, you want to take all the kids home with you. Keep looking....if this group isn't the right one, there is one out there.

Our update...

Thanks for the updates! It's always nice to hear where others are and how their families are doing...Things here are going good...Our oldest is 5 and let's everyone know what a big boy he is and our youngest turns two in a couple weeks...I can't believe how quickly they are growing!
We have started the process to update our homestudy, so we can be a waiting family once again...we are not sure if we will take another sibling set, but we are open to it, so who knows!

Take care!

Hi all,

We weren't chosen again. At least the sw called ours to let us know. It's much better than just waiting and never knowing. Hope they found them a great family!

What your friend told you about the adoption day is true for us, too, Lakin11. I do want to apply for all of the children presented that day. Dh and I really have to rein ourselves in. Usually he's the voice of reason I don't find it sad, though. I always think about how many kids are going to find their forever families because of it! Here's hoping we find a match this time...

Well, news.....and sadly, not good. Kids bdad has now been deported. We thought that would be a good thing. However, we found out today that the kids bio family has petitioned the Mexican consulate to step in and send the kids to Mexico with their bdad. Apparently they are going to step in. We have no idea if this is going to happen for sure, nor any idea of when it would happen. We are pretty upset and trying to give it to God and LEAVE it in His hands. Easier said than done. Just asking for prayers. We love these kids....we were just a little over a month away from them filing TPR...and now this has just changed the entire ball game.

Lakin,

I can't even imagine how awful this must be for all of you. Have you received any more news yet? Have they given you any timeframes or explained what processes will be followed from this point?

Thinking of you and your family,

Dawn H.

We are still waiting.....hoping no news is good news! The CW has said as of right now, she's going to push forward with TPR in Dec. Believe me, I can't wait for Dec 1st! We'll see if the consulate steps in before then. Although I guess they could after too. We just stay on our knees in prayer and hope for the best!
I just realized I hadn't updated the baby situation. He too will be staying a little while longer. The alleged father turned out not to be! Who knows if bmom is naming any other fathers. She went to 2 visits after finding out and now has missed 2 in a row. If she misses the next one (3 in a row), they can suspend visitation. We shall see what happens. I hope she can get it together and keep it together, but I think her history says she's got a long road to travel.
We are also hoping to add a little girl to the crazy mix. She is now 15 months old. Another hispanic little girl. We are hoping to find out if they will approve us for 5 kids or not, soon.
I'll keep you updated!

Any news lakin? I've been stalking the boards, and have you in my prayers. Only a few more days to go, hopefully you will get super fantabulous news then.

Nothing too exciting yet! CW did talk with someone from the consulate's office.....they've not been able to "find" bdad, nor has he contacted them. They are going to continue to look though. Have to prove they made an effort. Two more days! I am relatively calm right now, just wishing the hours would fly by!!
Thanks for the prayers!

A big fat nothing is happening! Ugh!
The CW was pretty misleading when saying she was going to file for TPR......all she did was file for a permancy hearing and at that point she's going to file. However, thats another 3 months away. End of Feb!!!! So we keep waiting with no idea whats going to happen. No new word from the consulate's office....hope that continues. However, anything can happen before Feb!
I just wanna get through this before the kids are in high school!

Ugh! I'm sorry to hear that! Waiting is the worst - in your circumstance it's gotta be downright draining.

I'm having a hard enough time waiting to hear about kids we're probably not going to get chosen for. I don't even know how I'd handle what you're going through.

Please keep us posted,
Dawn H.

I'm so sorry your still having troubles lakin, I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts daily. I'm also sending you warm fuzzies that everyone involved start thinking about these childrens best interest (being with you!) and start making progress towards that very goal!
