Adopt Sibling Group? Past or Future?

HI!

I have just accepted the honor of Forum Host for this particular forum!

I am an adoptive mom to 4! Two adoptions, first was singular, next was a triple! One boy and his twin sisters.

I would like to see if there are folks out there who have siblings that they adopted, or anyone who is thinking about it? Or perhaps you are an adoptee who was adopted with your siblings.

Please pop in and let me get to know ya!

Hey there! I'm glad to see some action on this forum. My husband and I are in the process of adopting two sisters from Guatemala. We don't have any children yet so we know it'll be a HUGE change to suddenly have a toddler and an infant. We're hoping to get to go visit them the weekend of April 1 and spend the weekend taking care of them.

It seems we were meant to adopt siblings. We first submitted our application to our agency after hearing about a three sibling group that was up for adoption. We weren't ever officially referred them but were in a group that was being considered for them. After about a month we found out that their mom was going to continue to parent. (Which was good because the finances of 3 had us a little bit scared.) Then, we were referred a two sibling group of toddlers (ages 2 and 3). We lost them after about 6 weeks when their mom wanted them back At that point, our agency said that siblings were rare and we probably wouldn't hear of another group before we were paper ready.

Our agency then asked us if we would consider a one year old girl. When they sent us her picture we also found out that the mom was pregnant and due very soon! Baby has since been born and was another girl so it looks like we'll still be getting siblings, and getting a baby! It was so funny when I told my grandparents about our new referral. I had their pictures on top of one another and my grandpa looked at the older one first. Then I told him about the baby and he was shocked! He said "You mean you're still getting two?" It was apparent that he thought we might have regained our sanity after losing the first two, but nope, we're still going to double our family!

I'd love to talk to others who have gone from 0 to 2 or more in one fell swoop!

Well what I mean is,, That if all seems to be what we are told to be true,, We are hoping to adopt,, Our Dossier has been in Poland since Sept 05,, and now we are hoping for a referral, So far it has now been 2 weeks from our last effort to contact her by phone or via email,, asking for an update on things,, and we have not heard anything,, I join the frustration ranks at this point..

We are adopting a sibling group of 6. We have maintained 6 teen girls through foster care and as group home parents but never had a group of little ones. Our kids will be twin girls 4, boy 5, girls 7, 8, and 9. Plus our DD has been with us since she was 3 weeks old is 4 1/2. We are so excited and DD is ready for her brother and sisters to come home NOW. We hope to have them home in a month or so but that might be a little too optimistic.

I, too, am a forum stalker. I am so worried I will miss an email from my worker I check constantly and check here while I am at it. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Yes you can adopt a sibling group ,, In fact we were told it would be faster,, But compared to what,, Not much activity on the Poland Forum,, I do not have any stories to compare too..

So like many other's,, I too am a forum stalker,, I feel like this is an AA meeting,, ( can I say AA without being condesending)?

Talking all you stalkers! make me smile

I am glad to have all you forum stalkers, and as a past member of AA, I don't mind the use, and didn't take it condesending, but very humorous!

I'm not a stalker...just watch things very closely...

Dh & I adopted a sibling group of 4 from foster care a few years ago. They were 5,4,2 & 1 when we met them. Are now 9,8,6&5. Where does time go!????

Glad to see this forum kicking off!
