Just checking in...
Hi all!
I've been feeling sorry for myself and my childless life tonight, so trying to post threads to make the night go by quicker. It's hard sometimes to find others interested in sibling group adotions, so many are waiting for a baby match. I definitely don't have anyone local that understands and most people think we're just plain nuts. We know what's right for us though, as I suspect most of you do too. How is everyone? Waiting to me matched? Enjoying your new kiddos? What are you doing to keep busy? I'm really good as obsessing about things and it keeps my mind busy, but nothing's going on right now. I need a new obsession so to speak. Any ideas from others who have waited? Something for the long nights at home with no kids to feed dinner to or bathe or read a story to? I'm just making myself crazy, I've got to do something soon. I hope I'm just hormonal and I wake up feeling better tomorrow after getting this all off my chest. That's it, no more whining for the moment, thanks for being there. ![]()

Waiting - Siblings - Others
Waiting:
I am not good at waiting either. What we did was sign up on www.adoptuskids.org You can say what state(s) you want to focus on as well as other chatacteristics. It wil give you a "suggested list" based on your criteria. The sibs are always listed first. 2 things happened - social workers checking out the sight started contacting our social worker about us and we were able to submit an interest on sibling groups we thought "fit". There is also a resource page that you do not need membership for listing individual state sites. The resource page is actually where I first saw the listing for the twins we are visiting with and submitted an interest for there. Siblings / Other's opinions - I hear you. People think we are crazy too, especially since we have 3 bio kids (ages 19, 22, 25), and we were focusing on teens and pre-teens. You should have heard some of the reactions we got - some from social workders!! Just try to ignore them or change the subject. You know best what is right for your heart and home. Good luck. KC |
