I am eighteen years old and Adopting children won't be for a while. I still have a career to build but that is why I am here. I have to build a career and I fear that my family's reputation and run in's with the law will leave a black mark on me. Not only that but my biological mother is a well known drug addict and prostitute, my bio father is a pedophile. It goes down hill from there with the rest of my family.
I want a clean slate for me and for the children who I choose to adopt.
Like I said, I'm eighteen and the only other choice I see is to change my name or to be adopted and take the name of my adopted parents. My real concern is my family continuing to claim me as part of their family and I don't want that. I want it to be like I had never existed in their family.
Are there any other options?
I asked about restraining orders but the police said that they are reserved for women and men with stalkers. Please help me find some options.
