I feel wanted.
I just got home from a visit with my bmom. I got to meet my grandmother for the first time. My grandmother had lived a rough life but finally now has it together. She wasn't really involved in my mom's life when she was growing up and wasn't around at all. I found out that she was in jail when I was born. I knew my mom was happy about my birth but I didn't think anyone else was. My grandmother wasn't able to use the phone but she was able to recieve messages. Apprently my grandfather called her the day I was born. It made me cry when she told me how happy she was to have a grandaughter and how her and her friends celebrated my birth. I feel silly trying to explain how important this is to my husband but I thought you here would understand. Yes, her life was a mess but hearing that there were at least two people who were happy about my birth means a lot.

Congratulations! It is so important to know that your birth was celebrated. So many take that for granted.
