The best thing my parents did...
.....was to treat me no different than they treated their bio-children. They never lied about the fact I was adopted. I always knew I was, but they never made a big deal out of it either. My sister was also adopted. My mother loved us as though she had bore us and still does.
I am also glad that my parents did not choose open-adoption. FOR ME this would not have been good. I had a few difficult years and I think if I had, had contact with my ** during this time, it would have confused me even more and made things worse for me. ![]() |

It is important to remember the positives in adoption. I would like to add that my adoptive father loved me sooooo much. He still does, and in fact, he and I are closer than he is to his biological sons!!!
