Reunited with Bmom - just found b-dad

Hi!

I've been asking for help here on finding my birth father's family (he's deceased).

I'm happy to report that I finally found he right family, and my partner spoke to my birth father's BROTHER today for about 15-minutes (I was wayyyy too nervous to talk on the phone today, when we were shocked the number we called, was the right number!)

My cousin on my father's side msg'd me on facebook today, saying something like "Hi Steve! I hear you spoke with my Uncle "John" today, you found the right Lynch family!!"

Everyone seems so warm and willing to explore this.... I have been feeling, after my bio-mom found me and how great it's been working-out, that I really miss the chance to have known my birth dad because he died before I could connect with him.

Now, I "uncovered" another sibling - a (half) brother, plus an extra 2 uncles, and an aunt

I was "on a mission" to just find out where my father was buried so I could pay my respects privately....but now it seems I also have even more family who don't sound like they're opposed to knowing me

This search for my birth father's family is like my tribute to him, who I never knew, and who never knew about me.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so happy you got a friendly response!

Your head must be be spinning with all these new relatives! I wish you all the best.

By the way, did they know previously that you existed? You're lucky that you had someone to make that first awkward phone call for you. Glad it all worked out!

Thanks!!! Everyone's support here has meant so much to me thru all this reunion stuff

I'm going to meet my father's two brothers - my uncles(!) next week. My b-father's family is a bit father away from me than my b-moms -- about 4-hr drive. But I'd gladly drive across the continent to meet them

Seems I was the first kid born to any of the sons or daughters of my grandparents, who are both still alive (!!) and am told my gramma "needs" to meet me.

More exciting shock - my other brother (even tho 10 years younger) apparently looks like me So even more excited to meet him.

Now, I've been found, and then found the rest of my birth family If I don't have any more shock or surprise for the next - say - 10 years - it'll be too soon hehe

Sumson,

You are doing so well with this and to meet your grandparents...incredible.

I hope you are writing all of this down and plan to write a story. With Ontario records just opening up it would be a good story to calm the fears or jitters of others.

Kind regards,
Dickons

ahhhhhhhh! Sleepless night. Doing the 4hr drive today to go meet fathers family. Am scared silly. I called my brother the other day for about 5 minutes. Was that ever a phonecall I'll not soon forget! "Hi 'Joe' - I'm not sure if anyone has called you or gave you a heads-up on this or not...but here goes... I'm your older half brother by our late father"

There was a silence that lasted about 20 seconds, and then a "ummm, ok, wow, my brother? I think I just need to digest this! And you wait for Halloween to call me with this?" haha (Got the feeling he felt I was someone put-up to calling him as a joke heh)

So anyway. Should be - interesting. All my late b-fathers brothers and parents, and my father's best friend from high school will be there. YIKES.

Went well! Met so many people my head is spinning. My uncles, my father's old best friend, my granparents, cousins, an aunt... wowow

Have to wait to meet my brother till next week cuz plans got a bit tangled up, but we talked on the phone and he sounds like he's over the initial shock and looking forward to it

I'm going for coffee with my gramma this morning, she wants to walk me thru a bunch of photo albums of my father

This is all just so unbelievable.

I really hope you are writing this all down and write a book...

To have coffee with your grandma...don't forget to ask for copies of your favourite pictures.

Kind regards,
Dickons
