Thank the Gods for the internet
In less than one month I have located, not spoken to yet, but located, my biological mother and two siblings. I kept coming to dead ends and still, between the internet and my trusty cell phone, I finally found someone who verified most of the information I have. The only way to contact my "new" little sister is through her e-mail. Now it's "wait and see"

Congratulations on locating your bfamily -- I hope you have a successful reunion.
Yes, the Internet is amazing -- I would never have been "found" if not for the Net -- some cousins posted a query looking for me (both my bparents are deceased) -- I later learned that the cousins' mother (relative of my bdad) had been looking for me for years -- she had tried to register with the ISRR back in the 80's but was ineligible because she was not immediate family. So much more is possible now with the Internet! Good luck. Hope you get a happy response from your new little sister. By the way, have you decided not to contact your bmom first? Sometimes the bmoms have not told their children that they put a baby up for adoption -- it is usually wiser to write the bmom first (a snail mail letter and perhaps a picture) and give her plenty of time to respond. She might get angry if you contact her daughter first. Something to think about... |

My sister called me within an hour of me sending the e-mail. We talked for over six hours about everything. Her (our) mother is in a home for Alzheimer's. She has end stage. My Bio-brother lives right here in MA. I am going to call hime today. He remembers my bdad. So far this has been a wonderful experience. My Abrother is behind this 100%. He helped me figured out different was of searching for names and numbers on the net.

The internet is great, isn't it?! I found my son's profile on this site. The internet is awesome!
I'm sorry to hear about your mother, but so happy you are able to connect with your sister and brother. Best wishes on your reunion journey... Susan |

Like Susan, I am sad that your bmom is not well, but very happy that you have had a positive response from your siblings. Hopefully they can tell you lots of good stories of your bmom before she became ill. Best of wishes. So glad you were able to connect.

So happy for you!!! So sad to hear about your bmom. My amom had Alzheimers. It is so very, very hard.
I'm so glad you connected with your siblings! Mine have told me very much about my bmom (she had passed away 3 years before I found her.) and generously shared pictures. Enjoy every minute! |
