After almost 2 years of reaching out to bmom - I finally wrote to my bsister - I sent an e-mail as well as a hard copy (with my non-id included) about 2 weeks ago.

She e-mailed me back yesterday - basically her response was she's more curious than threatened by this situation and is willing to embrace it as well.

I am so psyched..................... we've started the process of learning more about each other (via e-mails). She will be speaking to bmom about me sometime in the future and we are both sure she's going to be upset, but that was a chance I knew I had to take.

I know that she and I are as different as night and day but who cares.............this is the best news I've had in almost 2 years since I was given bmom's name.

You must literally be over the moon...whatever else you may experience during your new beginning...to have your sister be open to it up front...words fail me.

That's so wonderful for you and your sister; I have recently been back in touch with my birthsister and we have a marvelous friendship.
But, you are probably right about birthmom being angry when she finds out, because my birthmother reacted very angrily when she found out that sis and I have a friendship.
She felt betrayed, my other 2 sibs want nothing to do with me, they side with birthmom, but through the grace of God, my one birthsister is still by my side.
So, good luck with your friendship, sisters make such great friends.
