I am sorry to hear you have drifted apart. Thank you for your thoughts. My bparents are coming TOMORROW and, after speaking on the phone daily, have decided to pick them up at the airport. I can't believe I'm even writing those words down - too surreal. They will stay at a hotel but I have decided to invite them over to my home to see a part of my life. Thanks again!

Thank you! Your thoughts are valuable - especially the goo with the flow part. I have decided to "make plans" but with the understanding they can be changed at the spur of the moment, depending on how everyone is feeling. For example, I made dinner reservations at my favorite restaurant (and asked the hostess for a special table) but if we don't make it there for any reason, it's OK. However, I thought it would be important to have some sort of structure to either follow or not. Thank you! I also learned something about my parents when I asked them what kind of food they like before I made the reservation. I found out that one of them had dietary restrictions ...

Met my Bmom for the first time 7 months ago, I travelled 300 miles to her home town. I really don't think the town matters,but, I would suggest a hotel or restaurant is best.
It will be an emotional rollercoaster, my reunion has been great but take it slow. There will be highs and lows, I wish you Good-Luck.
