What are the odds of 2 babies born on the same day?

I thought I had found my birth mom and tried to make contact. Unfortunately, she e-mailed me back and said that she had already found her birth daughter. Now, this adoption was through the same agency, born at the same hospital on the same day... What are the odds of this happening? I just feel so disappointed and so depressed that I thought I found my birth mom only to hit another dead end.

I just feel so depressed right now.

Depends on the agency.

If it was a large one, in a larger town...likely.

My amom placed twins for adoption in 1959, and they were one of TWO sets born that day and placed...very strange...but as far as my amom can remember, she thought she'd been induced...I dont know.

Good luck, I hope you're able to make contact!

Woooooah. That's even stranger than my case! LOL!! That's so weird!! Were they born at the same hospital too? That's just strange!

Yeah, my mom was in a 'home for unwed mothers' - everyone gave birth at the same 'hospital' - to this day, I don't know if it was a real hospital or like a birthing center, only for the home...

I agree, very odd!

That is understandable if it was in a home for unwed mothers. Makes sense!! Still weird about the two sets of twins, though! lol

Well I must jump in here because it was me that starjz was talking about. It was not a home for unwed mothers. I actually had absolutely no prenatal care and showed up at the hospital when I was in labor and had not seen a doctor prior to that. I also was alone, they called my mom, but she lived over an hour away. I was rushed to surgery for a c-section not an epidural but general anethesia and was not awake at all for the delivery. I am sure it is just a coincidence that out of the 3 girls born that day at that hospital two were placed for adoption. It does seem quite odd to me. As far as signing papers, I could not tell you which papers I signed or when. The town is a college town so impossible probably not--curious absolutely!
It certainly makes me wonder--I have my first f2f with my dd Tomorrow!!!!!!! I have no doubt that she is definately my daughter-- Did I have two and no one told me?? That would be a great movie--or maybe even just a fiction book.

That would be AMAZING! Did starjz email you her photo so you can see if she and your dd resemble one another at all?

Good luck with your f2f.

When I was in the hospital there was a girl in the ward with me (same CC agency).. If I remember correctly she gave birth the same day.. as I.. and she had a boy like I did.

Smile How are you doing?

So how are you doing? I have been thinking of you since last week. The emotions and ups and downs you must be having.
Just hang in there and know that we care about you and are here to support you. I find so much comfort in just reading others stories...some good, some not so good but all very real and honest.
I am a birthmother who is waiting for my son to re-establish contact.
Anyway, am praying you find your birth mom soon.
take care.

I sent her the information for the agency that was used for searching, but have heard nothing back from her. I do not know if she had any success with the searcher at the agency or not. I sure hope that she does find her birthmother and gets some answers.
