How much is too much to pay someone to help search for your adopted child? I have some info, but not tons. I know where he grew up, where he graduated from, his family doctor, birthdate, age when he was adopted and his birth name...

I want this so much, that I am willing to pay. But I dont want to get ripped off either. I found this person in this forum, but I am new to all of this....

Any advice is appreciated.....

There are lots of people that want to help for free..

I know how you feel.. I remember trying to find out how to do this.. Someone said she had a data base of all the males born in the state on that birth date.. a data base of drivers license..

I know there are searchers that charge but I do not have a clue on how to find them..mabye we can keep this going and someone will help.

Hi, thank you for your response.... I gave him up in Hawaii. Crappy thing is, I went through a problem pregnancy center in Kona Hawaii. The lady brought me to a Lawyer, and I signed papers in the back seat of his car. I did not get copies of anything I signed and I can tell you I probably did not even read them. I was 17 and was having a nervous breakdown.

I will never forget the last day I saw him, He was sitting in the back seat of a car, wearing his OshKosh overalls with bare feet. He was reaching out for me and calling me.... I will never forgive myself...

I think some of us need to give ourselves permission to search.. Permission to give ourselves the gift of knowing..

I did not get any paperwork.. I signed in front of a judge.. and I got nothing..

Have you ever gone to the place that what you did was the right thing to do? Have you ever thought that what you did was what was best for your son? You were seventeen.. you were emotionally unstable..
Forgiving the self is an incredible journey.. And It can be done..

Deep in my heart I know he went to a good family. I know that they were able to give him a stable life, whereas I could not.... My selfish side wants to know him. Wants him to want to know me...

I grew up not knowing my father, finally got the nerve to find him and he had died 5 years earlier. His wife told me that although she knew of me, he never talked about me. She would not even give me any information about how he died. I dont want that to happen with my son, I dont want him to someday want or need to find me and I am no longer here....
