Smile Reunion

hiya i just had to share my positive reunion experience with you all.
i am 25 years old from the UK and my dad abandoned me when i was a few weeks old. he did this because he had to move 100 miles away for work so they thought it would be kinder to me. since this time i have had no interest in locating him, until now...

a few weeks ago i was on facebook on one of my friends from university's sections and found a girl with my father's surname, and it is a very unusual surname. so i emailed her and asked her what her dads name was, i then found out that her dad was my dad. i told her that my mum was an old friend from school because i didnt know if her and her brother knew about me and it turned out they didnt. a few days later she asked for my mums email address and my dad emailed my mum. he asked questions about me and said that he wanted to get in touch so i emailed him. i really didnt know what to write so i just told him who i was and asked him if he had any questions. we chatted by email for about two weeks and he told his children all about me, who have since been in regular contact with me aswell.

a couple of weeks later he asked for my telephone number and i gave it to him and he phoned me and we spoke for ver 1 hour. he has since called me three times since then and he suggested meeting me. i met him in a pub and my mum came with me for support at his suggestion. he was really lovely and we realised that we are very much alike in both looks and personality.

he has since said that this weekend he wants me to meet his wife and kids and i am really pleased about this. it could have gone so horribly wrong but it didnt and i am so glad.

Talking Congratulations!

Ncardie,

So glad you were able to finally meet up with your dad. I hope you have a great time meeting your sibs, too!

Best wishes,
Susan
