I've posted before and no there is no new news regarding reunion with my bparents........but the way I found my birthmother was using Ancestry.com - low and behold there is about a 50 page Family Tree who I contacted. They hooked me up with the "Family" website. Now the bulk of this family is still in Illinois, of course my descendents left and went to Roswell, NM.
I do have a Great Aunt who moved to NJ where I was born. While doodling around the website I came across a distant (like 3 or 4 Greats) cousin who is a Nun and lives one town over and works in my town - I contacted and met her and .............here it comes............... She was my 1st Grade teacher! I actually got to meet someone (other than my children of course) with some of the same blood as me - even if it is only a few drops at this point it was a nice feeling.......I am planning on meeting my Great Aunt over the next couple of weeks - and hopefully some "great" cousins in October................ Guess I'm not so much the "family secret" anymore Anyway, thanks for listening - their aren't too many people out there who know how I'm feeling ![]() |

Congratulations!!!... there is a book called The Synchronicity and Reunion by LaVonne H. Stiffler. It gives some more "spooky" coincidences in adoption reunions. I, myself, have 3 pages in a spiral notebook full of them... ie: I substitute taught one of my bcousin's daughters.. and cousin subbed phy ed at the school that I teach at... we had already met but didn't know it! and my best friend's father in law was in the same Army unit with one of my buncles! The list goes on and on and on. I hope your journey with your bfamily goes as well as mine did! sal

That is so neat! I can't even fathom how that must've felt!
I have just started the process of finding my adopted brother and I keep fancying thoughts of him actually living in my town, or having met him before Is this normal? |

yea, I can remember wondering if I dated someone younger could it be my brother. When people would tell me they saw my double I always wondered if it was a relative.
funny thing is - what makes my experience so spooky is the fact that my bmother came to NJ from NM to have me and then went back. She had an Aunt who use to live in Paterson where I was born - - although in 1961 when I was in 1st Grade my Teacher and Great Aunt also didn't know each other or that they were related yet only lived 1 town away. It wasn't too long after that that my Great Aunt moved out of NJ - she is back again but about a 2 hour drive - I hope to meet her in the next few weeks. I think we always wonder and hope that our Bfamilies are close by. Good Luck on your search |

a few coincidences
My half brother and I met a few years ago...long story, but the coincidence thing hit us too in 3 ways. 1)My best friend works in a dental office that they used to go to. 2)His baseball coach was the husband of the teacher that my mom worked with as a teacher's aid. 3) We got a dog from a rescue agency and they suggested that we take her to a specific vet within a couple of days. Turns out that the vet tech was my brother's wife. They live about 45 minutes away...both in suburbs of the same city, just on opposite ends, so there was no reason for us to cross paths. Ooops, maybe another tiny coincidence--his mom works in a school librarian, and I am a public librarian!

My bson lived next door to my sister for several months without knowing she was his baunt. His (a)dad is the pastor of the congregation where I grew up. It turns out that his adad actually met his bdad when JK was in high school because JK's dad was also a pastor.
