Heart Found Birthfamily

Talked to birth mom today. She was happy to hear from me. She has been trying to find me. She answered questions without hesitation. We are planning on meeting this weekend. She lives 30 min from me. I'll get more info on birth dad when I see her. She was married to someone other than birth dad and he didn't want me so they put me up for adoption. They divorced in 1978 and she never remarried. I know birth dad's name but don't know where he is.

This is truly another gift from God.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm a reunited adoptee 5 and 1/2years.. welcome to the rollercoaster ride we call reunion. There are a few things that I can suggest which may help you with this new found chapter in your life. First...allow yourself to FEEL what you FEEL..Second..take care of yourself...Third..don't hesitate to get some help if the ups and downs feel too scarey..Fourth..HOLD ON TIGHT.. It does slow down and get better and quiets down after a while.. In the beginning for me I found myself totally consumed with my bfamily...constant anxiety that they would disappear or decide that they didn't like me after all... etc. I was totally caught off guard for the flood of emotions... both happiness and grief that sometimes came at the same time!!! I found alot of fantastic support here in the chatroom..they made me realize that I was not alone in this... and that I was NOT crazy either!! Good luck in your journey...this site has been a Godsend to me...sal
