Oh. My. Gosh. I am in shock.
I surrendered my perfect newborn baby girl in August 1988, and had a very hard time with it. Was active in adoption forums, etc. for a while. Finally got through it, and had more children I raised in 1995, 1999. When my daughter was 7 or so, I registered with ISRR. Heaven forbid something happened to me & she had no access to info. Earlier this year, before she turned 18, I updated my info. There was a message on my answering machine today from a woman at ISRR. I simply will not make it through the night till I can call them back! )Not sure what I'm looking for, exactly, but I received so much support so many years ago, I wouldn't mind being around those who understand again. I never *hid* the surrender, but most people in my life now, know nothing about it. So, I sure hope ISRR only calls if there's a match??? Thanks Janet |

Janet!!!
What a wonderful Christmas present!!! I am also registered with ISRR and they told me they only call when they have a match....get ready! I think the people in your life now will be thrilled for you, the attitudes towards us birthmothers has gotten so much kinder as opposed to "back in the day." Let me be the first to congratulate you!! Kim |

I have spent hours googling her and whatnot. She is on xanga, and flickr, and was on myspace ... I now have seen tons of pictures of her. She is gorgeous, a real beauty. My face shape and my body shape, and dark features. (that part must be her bdad.) She lives in a terrific town and is attending an excellent school, and it is a very nice home judging from pictures & neighborhood.
She is still in HIGH SCHOOL! That part is rather intimidating. A senior. I wonder when she gets home from school... I have prayed for her every day for more than 18 years. She certainly appears happy and healthy, so my prayers were answered. I did not really expect her to look when she was 18. I was thinking mid-20's... 30's... I pray for good reunions for everyone here... J ![]() ![]() |
