I just found my foster mother!
I didn't think I would be so emotional. I only lived with them for a year when I was 13-14. I have casually searched for them over the years, but never could find an address. I just did.
Her husband passed away ten years ago, and her only son, died a few years back. My brother and I were the only foster kids that I'm aware of. She's old, and she has no one left. I'm nervous about this and not sure if I want to see her or not. I feel really bad that is is all alone, and I don't know if my seeing her would cheer her up, or make things worse?? I never thought I'd be faced with this. I honestly thought she would have passed by now. What should I do?? |

I am quite sure hearing from you would cheer her up in more than one way. As people age, younger "friends" bring them a tremendous amount of joy. Secondly, providing you had a good relationship, she would be marvelled that you thought enough to contact her and shar your successes.
Good Luck, "K"

I think I'll do it
I think I will get in touch with her. She lives within 40 miles of me, and it wouldn't be that hard to drive up to see her.
What's weird is, I remember her taking me with her to see her elderly father. I didn't live there long, not her fault nor mine, just how it happened. I did care for her alot. I feel very bad that she has no one now. Maybe I can have a mother/daugher relationship with her. She never had a daughter, and my mother passed when I was ten. So, maybe it will be a good thing. ![]() |

Go for it!
Sounds like she would be more than happy to see you and to know that she meant enough to you to search for her after all this time.
