I just found my foster mother!

I didn't think I would be so emotional. I only lived with them for a year when I was 13-14. I have casually searched for them over the years, but never could find an address. I just did.
Her husband passed away ten years ago, and her only son, died a few years back. My brother and I were the only foster kids that I'm aware of.

She's old, and she has no one left. I'm nervous about this and not sure if I want to see her or not. I feel really bad that is is all alone, and I don't know if my seeing her would cheer her up, or make things worse??

I never thought I'd be faced with this. I honestly thought she would have passed by now. What should I do??

I am quite sure hearing from you would cheer her up in more than one way. As people age, younger "friends" bring them a tremendous amount of joy. Secondly, providing you had a good relationship, she would be marvelled that you thought enough to contact her and shar your successes.
Good Luck,
"K"

I am at peace that she has a good life - one that I could not have given her at the time a wise Bmom who shall remain nameless....

I think I'll do it

I think I will get in touch with her. She lives within 40 miles of me, and it wouldn't be that hard to drive up to see her.

What's weird is, I remember her taking me with her to see her elderly father. I didn't live there long, not her fault nor mine, just how it happened. I did care for her alot. I feel very bad that she has no one now.

Maybe I can have a mother/daugher relationship with her. She never had a daughter, and my mother passed when I was ten. So, maybe it will be a good thing.

Go for it!

Sounds like she would be more than happy to see you and to know that she meant enough to you to search for her after all this time.
