WA and CA - Medical reasons

WA adoption law and more can be access through links at http://www.bastards.org/activism/local/wa/

A WA-based support group you might want to contact:

Adoption Search & Counseling Consultants (ASCC)
6201 - 15th NW, Suite P210
Seattle WA 98107206-782-4491
cbsvox@accessone.com
Clayton Shaw
Washington, out of state, and some international searches.
Workshops counseling and other post-adoption services including post-reunion.

You will probably want to search where your mother was born first since that will be where her original birth certificate is. WA state, like CA and TX, also has a birth index, which can be obtained though genealogical libraries (never say it's for adoptee search in case you get an anti-adoptee bigot, which sometimes happens) or through Confidential Intermediariees for a fee. Again, always shop around.

Best of luck to you and your mother.

Damsel
