SEARCHING FOR BMOM I WAS BORN4-17-72 IN FL

Father was a CPA for a large firm in town. he was already married. so...I recently went to the hospital where I was born to try and get a medical history if one even existed, and they told me that they couldn't give out that info. but for 1$ for every year that they had to go back (27$) they could research if there were any nurse notes from my birth, but no med. hist. don't I have the right to that? If anyone has any words of wisdom I would appreciate it. I am not trying to disturb anyones life. I just want to know my med. hist. and possibly find my birth mother. Thanks for reading this... GO TO THE EXPERTS BOARDS AND SEE DAMSEL PLUM'S FORUM

I think the records in Florida are open, but I'm not sure. Damsel will know. She's a whiz. Be sure to post your information on the registries, too. There is a Free Search Registry on the adopting.org website. Post your gender, date of birth, city/state, hospital, etc. Run a Search of the Registry first and see if your Birthmom or Birth siblings are already registered and looking for you. You will find a listing of other on-line Search/Reunion Registries at http://www.reunionregistry.org/regist.htm I assume they are free also. Post the same information on each of those and REMEMBER WHICH REGISTRIES YOU HAVE POSTED INFO ON. Check them on a regular basis. Don't neglect to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to INTERNATIONAL SOUNDEX REUNION REGISTRY with a note asking for a registration form. When they send it, fill it out immediately and return it so they can run a search. If they don't find a "match" for you (same info from birthfamily members) they will post your information. This is also a free registry. It is the oldest, largest and most successful in the world. Good luck and HUGS, Carol Bird, Expert Birthfamily Support Forum, adoptions 5 years and older.
