Access to Sacramento Bee NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES?

Any way to access the 1979 Sacramento Bee newspaper archives?

I need to browse the pre-1984 Sacramento Bee daily newspaper archive online to find an article. There seem to be only obstacles or missinformation: The microfilm (1857-date) archive is available in University or public libraries, but they only allow students or say it's for "LIBRARY USE ONLY". It maybe available online at ProQuest, but that is only available to students and faculty?

Is there any way to gain access to this archive online? Or is there any large ebooks type company that could sell a copy of the whole archive for 1978-1980? I'm willing to pay hundreds of dollars.

I would go to the Sac Bee's website, and send an email asking them your question about access to archives. You don't need to be a student to visit any of the university libraries in person. You only have to be a registered student to check out any materials. Same thing with the public libraries here in California. Anybody is welcome to go into any library branch and read newspapers in the building. You just have to have a library card in order to take materials home with you. Anyway, go to Sac Bee's website, and look for a "Contact Us" link at the bottom or top of the homepage. If you click on that, then you'll either see the email address to use or they'll have an online contact form you can fill out.
