Question Looking for Texas Search Angel/Advice/Help

I am an adoptee, female, born 10/15/87 in Houston, TX and given up for adoption immediately. I have all my non-ID info (including hospital, parents' ages, parents' siblings, grandparents' death ages, some info on other children, etc.) and I think I know my birthmother's first name.

I have been searching for four years but I guess I'm just not very good at it and would like some help or advice, or if someone who IS good at searching would like to assist, that would be welcome.

Thanks,
Rachel

Try to find someone with Ancestry.com, I believe that 1987 was the last year that Texas allowed the birth records to be published on the internet. Since you think that you might know her first name, you might be able to find your birth record. Good Luck.

Do you have any recommendations as to what exactly I should search for? I've had an Ancestry.com account in the recent past and tried doing some overly complicated searching, but was never successful.

Im trying to remember how to do this...go to the "search" area where the map of the US appears, click on Texas, and there should be a page or two of different categories....you should be able to find births, deaths, marriages, all listed separately. Click on births, and go from there. If you have a date, I thought that all the births from that date are listed. I dont have Ancestry anymore, but I know that I found my marriage, children, nieces, nephews, on there. You can personally email me if you would like too, then we can go into your ancestry site. CJ
