This might be a dumb question, but it just dawned on me: how can I find out anything without any original names?

My adopted parents named me. I don't know the name my birth mother/father originally named me.

Is the first step trying to find out what I might have been called?

I've been searching around the internet by birthdate and location for years, but haven't come across anything.

You may want to try to find a volunteer search angel in Georgia.
You need someone who can search the birth records in the county where you were born.
I'm sure there are adoption boards for people in Georgia. Yahoo has boards for practically every state. Search the internet . . you should find one.
