Been doing this for years, since I was 21 (20 years now).
Figure I'll give it one more shot.

My bio father was born in Baldwin, NY
David Hamilton Bryson adopted name Rathjen
Born 12/5/37

Adopted by the Rathjen's from Northport, NY

Had 2 sisters (we think). One was Helen? Helga?

She contacted him years ago from California. He did not want a reunion. Sad, but he was very young at the time and I guess loyal to his adoptive family.

He had 3 children with my mother - me & two boys.
He passed away at the age of 30 so we don't have many details. I tried contacting the courts years ago to no avail. They would not unseal the records.

Hoping someone finds this at last.

Just have to make a correction. I dug out the letters my aunt sent me (my bio father's adoptive sister) and the sisters names are Joan & Helga. Joan is the one that called him from California. Helga is a half sister born a couple years after my father. Joan is probably 2 or more years older than my father. Sorry I got this info wrong & you kind ladies who PM'd me were sent on the wrong track. But thanks, I really appreciate your help!

So Helga probably born around 1939
Joan probably 1935 or earlier

Hi,

Yes, the last names (pre-adoptive) would be Bryson. And I just thought of something - their maiden names would unfortunately be listed probably as their "adoptive" names. This is looking too hopeless to me. I think searching is futile, unless someone in their family is personally searching for us themselves!
