Do you know if your birthdaughter was adopted in plano or if the adoptive parents are from here? Did you have a closed adoption? If this is being too nosy then just tell me. I'm just surprised to even be talking to someone that is literally just down the block.

You're not being too nosey. I have spent all of these years being quiet about what I went through. I would tell people I put a child up for adoption but then I would refuse to talk about it.
Well, recently I opened up to some of my girlfriends and now I'm experiencing all of these emotions I would never acknowledge before. Anyways...I grew up in Richardson and I was working part time in Plano. I was allowed to choose which hospital. I chose the one in Plano because it was closer. The adopting parents were living in (or around Dallas). You know how big Dallas is when you include all of the suburbs. I am assuming they lived in North Dallas. I was told the adopting father owned a Construction Company here. This was a closed adoption. I wanted it that way out of fear I would try to take her back and I knew I wasn't able to raise her. |

blambdin and InBlindFaith,
I grew up in Plano, and now live in Garland, I was pretty shocked to see another adoption out of Plano. I've lived in Allen before, and my pediatrician is in Allen, so I'm out there at least three times a year if not more. InBlindFaith, I think it's good that you shared your story, it's so hard to keep something so close to your heart a secret for so long. As I said in my earlier post, feel free to PM me anytime. If you don't mind me asking, which hospital did you go to? I had my daughter at HCA, which is now Plano Medical Center, I had my second child there as well as my son. Very strange to have my other two in the same hospital, but also comforting in a way. It would be great if we could have a support group or even just an email support group or something, it's nice to know that I'm not so alone here in TX. It's really a small world isn't? I can't believe you two are so close!! It feels good knowing I'm not alone over here in my neck of the woods. I don't mind getting together...at least then I have people close by who understand.
Growing up my dad and step mom lived in Garland so I was there every other weekend. I had her at Plano Medical too. The birthfather's mother was so awful about all of this They didn't list my name on the board when I had her, for my protection. The nurses there were wonderful. They would sit there with me when they had time...to make sure I was okay. I had my other daughter at Richardson/Baylor. Her pediatrician is behind that hospital and her ENT is behind Plano Medical. |

wow, it was like that with me too, although she wouldn't have done anything, but she definitely hated me something terrible. One of the doctors I saw when I was pregnant with my bdaughter, is the one who delivered my last son, kinda of strange. I live right at the borderline of Richardson and Garland, literally. Maybe we can all get together and have a drink or something(like a starbucks coffee or similar), you mentioned that you have another little one, maybe we can get together at a McDonalds or something. We can start of through emails and get to know each other a little bit first if that's more comfortable then work our way up to an outing or two maybe. I don't know, I'm just excited you two are so close!

His mother kept telling me I had no right to give her grandchild away...it was insane!! I stood my ground though, this was my decision to make not hers.
I would love to meet up with y'all...start off with just us first? After getting comfortable through email of course. The daughter I have with me is seven, starting second grade in a coupe of weeks. I'm so excited about this!! |

Sounds great! Well, his mom wasn't like that, she was there the day I had her with her oldest daughter who was pregnant and all she did was ask what I had and if I'd had the baby. My mom was infuriated with the way this woman was toward me and just pretended not to hear her or see her, and kept on walking. Her bfather signed the papers without there knowledge, something to which I'm not so sure was legal now...since he was only 15 at the time. They never tried to contest the adoption and if they had I would have kept her no matter what....even if it meant I had to quit school and become a single mom! Anyhow, it's a long story, one I should keep for another time

I found her!! Thanks to the Search Angel (who I think really is an angel
) and my friend searching the internet!! Within a day and a half I had her name, address phone number and saw a picture of her which looked just like me at that age!!!I am not able to bring myself to make first contact. She has to do that. She should be getting ready to go to college, I don't want to disrupt her life!! I am hoping and praying she makes contact soon!!! |

Congratulations!!! I think it is wise to sit back and wait to see if she tries contact. At least you saw a picture of her. I have never seen a picture. I bet she is absolutely beautiful...
