I just found this board. Hello all! I'm looking for approx. 4 brothers surname "Shaw" at birth. Mother's name Helen Josephine Manchur Shaw; DOB 1/16/1921. Known siblings Karen, Anita, Margaret, Ralph, Loraine,Daniel(deceased). Approx. 4 bro's btw. yrs. 1940's-1951 Boston, Ma area. May have been "Catholic Charities" involvement & "the home for little wanderers". Supposedly 1 bro found by 1 sibling who isn't giving out info. Bro is military person & was adopted. Any help much appreciated.

Wow. What am I doing here? I've asked myself this many times before actually posting this message. I don't know if I will ever find the man who is my brother, but I am hoping that somewhere out there he will read this message and contact me. We can only hope and pray, right?

Several years ago I found a birth certificate in my mother's personal belongings. I was actually looking for my own certificate since I was about to get married and needed it at that time. I came across my 'brother's' certificate and was shocked as I was never told of this person. I do have one brother who is four years older than I, and the only brother I've ever known up until this point. As one can imagine, I was shocked, scared and confused as to what information I had just found. The birth certificate said the baby's name was Michael Anthony Morris. Born June 19, 1975 (which my birthday is June 18, 1974!) and the baby was born in a Chicago hospital that no longer exists. I cannot recall the name of the hospital but I do know that when I tried to contact the hospital it was no longer listed. I really don't know where to begin. I know this is a process that will take some time. I don't plan to ask my mother of the story behind Michael's adoption because for whatever reason she has chosen to keep that from me and my brother. I did ask my brother if he recalls this situation since he is a few years older than me. He says he vaguly recalls our mother having a baby while I was still a baby. He recalls seeing my father and mother sit down with a lady who took the child and handed my mother papers. We are assuming it was an adoption. My mother was in tears and brokenhearted. My brother went on to expose the fact that our mother might have been the victim of a sexual attack which resulted in her becoming pregnant. We cannot confirm this.

I am reaching out to you all here because I have no where else to turn. I am scared to begin for I don't know what I will uncover. But I am scared not to begin the process for my brother is out there somewhere, probably looking for us. Priobably wishing he knew who we were. The ironic thing is, I've ALWAYS felt that I was missing something as a child. I am not sure how to explain it, but I never felt as if I was the 'baby' of the family for some reason. And then to find out that this baby is partically my twin is amazing to me.

So, if he is out there... or if anyone has any information on how to find him, please let me know.

My husband is searching for his half sister. We know she was born on or around 3/13/85 in Louisiana. They had the same father who is now deceased. Her birthmother supposidly passed a few weeks after the baby was born. We know his sister's first name at birth as well as the birthmother's first name, the hospital name, and all the birthfather's information. It was said that someone in the mother's family either adopted her or took legal custody. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering if it is legal to look in newspaper archives for birth records and stuff like that...we are new to this and don't know what we can and can't do. Thanks

I am trying to locate my sister Sherry who was given up for adoption back in 1973 out of Orange, CA. Four of us were placed in the Albert Sitton Home and split up. My sister Angela and My brother Robert were reunited back in 2002! We have to find Sherry! I want so much to find my half brother. One year ago I found my half sister after 42 years---thanks to this site. She talks to my half brother (her whole brother)but won't give me any info. on him because he told her not to. He thinks I'm just some stranger. She doesn't want him to get mad at her. Isn't a year long enough to wait? I just want to talk to him once. He's having a hard time believing I'm his half sister because he never knew our mother had another baby before she died. She thinks he just doesn't want to hurt their dad by bringing up painful memories of her leaving them. If I find out his address or phone number myself she wouldn't be involved and that would be fine with her. Only his number is unlisted she told me. I know the general area where he lives. I'm just not sure of the town/city. Should I try to find him on my own? Should I just sit tight and wait and wait and wait some more? My sister gave him my number, but she doubts he'll ever call. It's making me crazy! I'm so close yet so far. Guess I sound really stupid wanting so much to talk to someone who could care less about me. He's just the last piece to my puzzle. I want him to know that I am who I say and I mean no harm. I'm not even looking for a relationship. Guess I should just walk away and give up. Any advice?

I'm looking for my half brother and sister from my father's first marriage. Their names at birth would have been Brian and Connie Tully. Brian would have been born around late 1962 or early 1963. Connie is 2-3 years younger. I know my dad married their mom in October 1962 in Maine. I believe their mother Judy is from Portsmouth, NH. Sorry I don't have much info. Any help would be appreciated.
