Search for sister
I am Australian adoptee searching for my birth sister. She was born in Sydney Australia on 17th February 1949 and named Rhonda Henderson. Around 1973 she went to USA and married a doctor. I believe she still lives in America with her family. I was hoping someone may have an idea of the best way to locate her, I would appreciate any suggestions.

Just wanted to let you all know - don't give up! I had searched for ages trying to find my adopted sister who is now 57. I followed every lead however tiny and finally we found her. I discovered that she had gone to America in the 70's and married but I didn't know her married name or where she was living. All I had was her date of birth in Australia and her maiden name. I was given the email of a lady who would do a search in America from an adoption society in Australia. I contacted this lady and gave her the only details I had and she sent me a name and address for someone who matched the first name and date of birth. I was also given the same info from Tina on this website - thank you so much to you both. I wrote a brief letter to the person and- bingo - it was the right one! She was unaware of her adoption in Australia but is very interested in making contact with her adopted brother and myself (both still in Australia).
I have searched constantly for 18 months in Australia following every lead possible, it is amazing how something which may seem trivial at the time leads on to further discoveries. So - don't give up hope, I was at a dead end with info from America but then it all fell into place. It is certainly worth the effort!! |
