I too was born in Wellsville, NY. I believe I have at least 2 sisters that have same birth mother, also born in Wellsville, NY. Maybe I have a brother too. You could always have his medical records sent for if it was a private adoption. I am also in the process of getting this info from the local hospital, Jones Memorial. I have also registered with the NYS Adoption Information Registry, a registry where you can search for birth parents, and or identifying, nonidentifying info, medical history. You can also search for any brothers and or sisters that you may have but don't know it! If you are going to try the medical records route be sure not to let them know that you were adopted, they probably won't release any information. My records weren't sealed until about 2 months after my birth. I have a right to my medical records, so does your husband, just be careful how you go about not letting them know he was adopted. I still live in Wellsville, NY, I believe that my birth mother may have died in 1997, of some rare cancer, she was from the Culbert family, who also still lives in Wellsville, NY.

Patrick, was this the last name or first? I know some Patrick's last name that are still in the area. Apply for your non-Id information thru the allegany county surrogates court, they have a form, it might give you some more information, clues as to who it could be.
