Unhappy Search Hopes Dashed in Illinois

I had a possible lead on a searcher who might have been able to help me locate my birthdaughter. (This searcher is the first and only one that would talk to me since my daughter only just turned 18..no one else will talk with me until she is 21 since she was born in Illinois).

Anyway, I have great confidence in this searcher. The searcher indicated they dont currently have access to 1986 data..that I should try back in a 6 months to a year.

Admittedly part of me was excited I might be able to actually find her. The other part of me was bracing for the usual " cant help you..no info..you dont have a right to know..call us back when they are 21..etc."

Seems the pain of this will never end.

I just wanted to let you know, in case you didnt already, that you can register with the Illinois registry, but she cannot until she is 21. Her parents however can...you never know they may be supportive of a search on her end and help her. I would say you have nothing to lose putting your info out there, if you havent already. At the very least, if she registers at 21 there will be a quick match as your info will already be there.

Good Luck,

Christine

Illinois Registry

yes, I did register here many years ago. I need to update my registry. I have the forms but the challenge is finding a notary to certify them before I send.

Thanks for the support. I welcome all I can get.

Banks usually have a notary on hand, and if you are a member sometimes they wont even charge you (sometimes they do).
