Could someone please help me with where to register besides this site. I just started looking for my birth family. I honestly don't know where to register. I found this site by chance. I was born and adopted in Lafayette, Indiana. I have a name for my birth mother. I have a date of birth for myself. I have the number of kids she had and adopted out. Someone please help me.

One suggestion, that I recieved recently, is to go to the website
www.isrr.net/registration

This is an international reunion registry.

You print out the forms, but they must be mailed in. They cannot be completed online.

I received this tip some time ago as I am a birthmother who wants to put my name out there in case my son should decide to search.

I'm sure you will get much more advice from the more experienced. Hang in there!

Using the Indiana Adoption Registry: For adoptions finalized before December 31, 1993, birth parents or adopted adults can request identifying information, which will be released only if consent is given from the party who is the subject of the request. If consent is not already on file, a confidential intermediary may be appointed.

Adopted adults age 21 or older, adoptive parents of a minor, and birth siblings age 21 or older can request identifying information, which will be released if consent is given from the party who is the subject of the request. If no consent is on file, the State registrar will search for other birth siblings if they are 21 or older to see if they consent.
