Kentucky Birth Index
I was wondering about a Kentucky Birth Index for 1969. I was born in Hopkinsville, KY on April 8, 1969 at the Jennie Stuart Memorial Hospital. The physician who signed my birth certificate (the one with my adoptive parents) was Dr. Jere Robertson, MD.
Also, I was told that my birth mother was a teacher, unmarried, and that she stayed at a Florence Crittendon Home for Unwed Mothers. Does anyone have any information on that home? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

The KY birth index unfortunately only publishes the post-adoption information. I do have access to it but unless you know your Bparents name I doubt that it will be helpful to you at this time. I might suggest that you contact the State of KY and apply for your non-id information as well as register for the "consent to contact" registry. If you do have names for your birth parents, their parents, or other potential birth relatives I would be more than happy to help you by looking in the index and seraching for them. Shelle

Just a little infor for you there are KY Birth Books before 1965 that still list bmoms info that is how I found my bmom with great thanks to my search angel. Only part of the orginal cert number changes, that is how she searched but after 1965 the state figured out what adoptes were doing and stopped printing these books
