I'm searching for my 1/2 sister born to Martha Sue Hill. She was 16. I believe the fathers name was Richard or ****. She was at the Salvation Army Home for Unwed Mothers (Booth Home) in Chicago, Il. I believe the baby was named Deidra. Our mother has died and I need to find the last piece of her life. I am her only other child and I know just about everything there is to know about her.

First, run a search (because I dont remember the www off the top of my head) anyway search 'booth babies' this will take you to the Salvation army website on the site is the contact for the person who holds the records from the Chicago home. Explain to her who you are and that your mother has passed and see if they will release the records to you.. or who they will release them to. Im not sure who is allowed to get them in your case...but of course they will know. Good luck.

Adopted 1961
Tammy.....This is Chris from Bloomington Indiana. My Buddy (Kelly) was born so she is told 6/28/1961. We both together have been looking for her family. I know she has already e-mailed you and responded to this site. I believed she was my cousin for 26 years. My father left her the family bible and pictures of his family. He rented her house from her. Her adoption lawyer was Nat U. Hill the 3rd. It just so happens my father has a picture about 1950 of Nat U. Hill and his wife. At the same place at the same time another picture of my mother and her first husband. and another picture of people I don't know. I was adopted too....by Richard. (****) Jackson. Born 2/3/1959. I'm from Logansport Indiana. Chicago was just down the road about 65 miles. My dad (adopted dad) went there all the time. His sister lived in Chicago at that time. I know all this don't mean much to you.... But this girl Kelly looks like my fathers family. Have thought so for 26 years. Please e-mail Kelly.....you have her e-mail address now I believe. Kelly was called Sue when she was born. I now alot of things seem to match up all the time....but we need to check any and everything out. Richard/Hill/Sue/Chicago/adoptee in 1961. My adopted father ran around alot....but not sure if he ever had a baby with anyone. He was born 6/2/1926 that makes him older than your mother....but at this point I'll believe anything. I was my mother's twin sisters son. One more thing. My fathers boss's name was Bob Both.
Thanks Chris Jackson (Bloomington Indiana) Monroe County

Thank you Tammy for looking for me.
I'm sorry that we were never able to get to know each other. It was wonderful to see you that one day. I will treasure that and our few phone calls we had. Thank you for the picture of our mother and if you ever change your mind about getting to know one another - I'll be waiting. Diedre |
