new here & sorting out a complicated family

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I'm 23 years old and my family's story is something you would expect to see on "Unsolved Mysteries" or a Lifetime movie. I guess I'll start at the beginning if there really is one.

My father was adopted as an infant in the 1950s and never knew or learned anything about his biological family. Both of his adoptive parents have passed away now and they were proably the only people who *might* have been able to tell us anything about his biological family.

My mother was taken from her home by Children's Protective Services as a teenagers in the late 1950s/early 1960s. She and her siblings were bounced around in foster homes before being adopted by an Aunt & Uncle. She knew her biological mother but has never been able to determine the identity of her biological father.

If this story rings a bell in anyone's mind I'd appreciate it if you would share what you know. But mainly I am seeking tips on how to begin what is potentially going to be a very compicated search with a lot of dead ends. Thanks.

What State were your parents born in? Some states have birth indexes available to the public, and that might be a place to start.
Best of luck, ~ Sharon

You might want to edit your post to include the states of birth and the dates of birth (or year of births). Other people reading your post will be more likely to identify with this basic information and contact you if there is a match.
