It generally includes ages, marital status, states of birth, education, religion, occupations and a physical description of your birth parents. It should also include the reason for relinquishment and may include information about your aunts, uncles and grandparents. It is called “non-identifying information” because it does not include any identifying information such as names, addresses or social security numbers. “Mutual Consent Registry” is a registry where adoptees and birth parents can register the adoption information. I do see that you are brand new to the forum and I hope you continue to post. There are many supportive people here. I did want to let you know though that there are many that take offense to the abbreviation of "birthmom" for birthmother. If you think about it you'll realize that it is an abbreviation for a bodily function. If you don't want to type the complete word, "bmother" or "bmom" or “bio-mom” is frequently used and is much more pleasant to everyone. I'm not being critical and I'm sure you did not mean anything negative. Most people that have had this pointed out never gave it a thought.
Good Luck with your search! ![]()

I am not new to this message board as I have posted before back in 1999 under a different name, since then my email had changed. I work in the healthcare field and honestly birthmom has about 40 other abbreviation meanings so I do not automatically think of what you were referring, I will refrain in the future from using here though as it may offend some.
