HELLO I AM LOOKING FOR MY BROTHER HE WAS BORN ON 5-4-1974 IN NASHVILLE TN. ADOPTED AROUND 77-78 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES HIS NAME AT BIRTH WAS MICHAEL D SMITH. I AM HIS OLDED SISTER GLORIA. MICHAEL WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM MY MOTHER WHEN HE WAS 3 YEARS OLD I WAS 5 IT WAS NOT HER FAULT ABOUT HOW THIS WAS DONE I HAVE NOT SEEN MY BROTHER IN OVER 20 YEARS. BIRTH MOTHERS NAME IS THERESA LYNN SMITH. MICHAEL WAS BORN AT HUBBARD MEHARRY HOSPITAL IN NASHVILLE. IT IS NOW CALLED GENERAL.
I REMEMBER PLAYING IN A PLAY PIN WITH MICHAEL AND PLAY WITH HIS HAIR HE HAD LONGER HAIR THAN I DID .I DONT THINK THAT THE ADOPTED FAMILY HAS TOLD HIM ABOUT US OR WHAT BUT IF ANYONE FITS THIS DECRIPTION OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WOULD BE PLEASED JUST TO HEAR HIS VOICE OR TO KNOW HIS OK. THERE'S NOT A DAY THAT GOES BY THAT I DON'T THINK OF MY BROTHER WHAT KIND OF MAN HE GREW UP TO BE DOES HE HAVE KIDS OR A WIFE. PLEASE HELP ME FILL THIS VOID IN MY LIFE MICHAEL HAS 7 SISTERS TOTAL AND OUR MOM IS STILL ALIVE SO IS HIS FATHER WE LOVE AND MISS YOU TERRIBLY THANKS GLORIA

“Mutual Consent Registry” is a registry where adoptees and birth parents can register the adoption information. If both parties register normally the agency responsible for the registry will notify both parties that consent has been given to contact each other.

“Confidential Intermediary Program” is a service sponsored by Tennessee that will search for and locate the birth family member that you are looking for. This program will make the first contact but if the person contacted declines contact the agency will not give you the information to contact them yourself. There is usually a fee associated with this service through the governing agency of adoptions in Tennessee. Have the birthmother contact the adoption agency that was used or the office in Nashville noted above.

Thank you for the information you have provided me with. the 2 agency You mentioned I have contacted through the mail and over the phone they tell me it will be up to a year before they reach my request. which was not what i wanted to hear.
