Need help finding my (late) bio-dads family
Hello,
I've been reunited with my birth mom, sister, and little brother recently. She gave me the name of my biodad "Steve Lynch" who lived in Ottawa, and who died young (probably in the early 80s - and am told he would have been in his early/mid 50s now) We think he also died in Ottawa. But I'm able to find any Obits of any Steve/Steven Lynch that meet the right ages I've been told. My bmother doesn't have very much info other than what I have presented here ![]() Any chance someone can help me find his living family, any of them? I have a great need to know about my father, but hearing it from his family. I think they might want to know I exist, being that he's dead, and nobody knew I was born. I'm hoping they'll be glad to know I exist being that their son died. Any help, much much appreciated. |

Did she say if he was French Canadian? Just wondering as his legal name may have been spelled Stephen and his last name may have been spelled different?
Kind regards, Dickons |

Thanks for checking for me Dickons!
I was told that he was english canadian. And his spelling was indeed with a "v" and last name is Lynch I think he may have been born in the late 50s -- but thats a total guess. I am told that he was born 'n raised in Ottawa, Ontario. Wish I had more info -- OH! -- He is known to still have two living siblings in Ottawa, a brother and a sister. Does tht help? |

Wrong first name but worth looking at the picture to see if you can see any similiarities.
- Ancestry.ca Still looking. Dickons |

I did not find anything concrete but have created a link to Ancestry.ca that will show all the researchers that have a Steven Lynch in their tree. From a quick look through there are several that may match but the location is not listed. You will need to try and go through them and find ones that either do not have a place listed or Canada and then send each one a email that you are looking for any info on Steven Lynch who was raised in Ottawa born in early 50's and passed away in the 80's...
Not sure if you can email without having a subscription to Ancestry but I think Ancestry will give you a free trial for 7 days if you provide cc details (just remember to cancel). Members researching Steven Lynch - Ancestry.ca The other suggestion is to create posts on the message boards there under the surname, city, etc... Best of luck, Dickons |

Hi Dickons, folks
![]() I'm starting to think that not even a professional could find much more info on my (late) elusive bfather online!! Fell in love with ancestry.ca/com -- and went ahead and just bought a membership. But, as usual, no info - not even a modestly decent lead. I've paid for a few of these kinds of sites, but haven't had any luck -- not even obituaries or birth listings. I did upload a photo of Steven Lynch at ancestry.com - hoping maybe someone else will put his name/face together. Just seems impossible to me, or I'm missing something -- to not be able to find a single lead on birth or death. Seems to me, if he died leaving two siblings, someone might have wanted to post an obit... Guess I'm just going thru one 'of those days' where emotions seem high I have no idea why finding my bdad's living family members has become so important to me since reuniting with my bmother... I think hearing tidbits about him here and there from various people just makes me want to pay respect to him or his memory - existence -- something...If anyone has any search ideas that the average 'searching' adoptee might not normally think about, or any LEADS - I'm already in your debt ![]() |

Hi there,
Does your bmother know what high school he attended? Or where he worked? What hobbies he enjoyed? Can she call old friends? And are you going to do a family tree? Have you posted search messages on the Lynch surname message board or the Ottawa board? What about the main library in Ottawa for an obit? Just keep trying. Kind regards, Dickons |

Hi! I got more info! Still dunno how this helps me, but I did update the classmates.com, ancestry.com places with it, and use the only pic I have of my father as my profile pic there...have also msg'd about 50 different Lynch's on facebook.
He died around 1997 at his place on Montreal Rd in Ottawa (Vanier, maybe?) he would have been in his late 30s then. Went to Ridgemont High School in Ottawa in the 70s or 80s, and has a brother named Greg Lynch (someone thought he is still in the Ottawa area) |

Steve...
I belong to several search groups, and am thinking that perhaps someone in this group might be of assistance: LookinginOntario : LookinginOntario You need to join the group through Yahoo groups, but it's easy. They are a very active group, especially with adoption records being opened up in Ontario with the legislation that was passed recently. There are some very wonderful people in the Looking in Ontario group. Best wishes, Susan |
