Need Help finding Birth Mom

I'm 43, and am looking for my birth mother. My story is a bit different, as I underwent a "Legal Name Change" rather than is an adoption order in place. So I found out recently that it wasn't an adoption at all. Seems to do the same thing with my Original Birth Record though. I'm confused about that part.

I would like to locate my birth mother. I have information from her marraige application to my birth father, but they divorced when I was about 12 or 13, that was the last time I saw her. Like I said, I did not know she was my birth mother. I have lots of great memories of her. I would like to know if she would like to have contact or not.

I was raised by my Grandparents, my bdad's mother, and was told that he was my Big Brother, of course then making my birth mother my "Sister-in-Law" - now ex-sister in law.

This is a matter of citizenship now for me. I have been a resident in the US since I was 3 1/2, and yet my record of birth is in Canada. With the new laws of security coming into effect, I am going to have to produce my citizenship proof.

Anyone that can help, I would appreciate it. I have lots of information about her. I have already spoken to my birth father and he has opted out of the whole thing, as has my Grandparents. I may also have a birth record that was not stricken or sealed through the adoption in the state if Indiana. Not sure how that part works yet, if anyone knows.

Anyone that can help I would so much appreciate it.

Thank you, and God bless.
