Looking for any members of Birthfamily
I have finally decided to start searching for my birthparents and or any family members. I am now 44 years old and have had some medical stuff going on, so If nothing else I would like at minimum medical history.
I have very little info, but here goes. I was born 1/31/1964 in Marlborough Mass. If anyone has any suggestions on where to start getting info, I would appreciate it. the least cost, if any would be best. ![]() |

It takes courage to search
Darjewel - I am certainly not a search expert but I did, by myself, find my birthparents after a 20 year search. In keeping with the Forum guidelines I would like to help. When I say I found my birthparents by myself I mean I didn't pay a big search comany. I did however have a lot of "search angels" some official some people just passing on what worked for them. The internet and more records being opened and available has made our searches a bit less difficult. Also I did find this Forum to be very helpful, so I think you are starting in the right place.

Thank you
Thank you for you response, over the last few days with alot of help from this site, I have found a form that I can request my pre-adoption info. I fall into the new Ma. law that can give this unsealed info. I have to chase around some cert. documents, then mail the request. I am hoping it provides some positive info. I will also check out the links you sent me.
Thank you Thank you ! |

I just saw your updated post. Yes, after checking my resources Massachusetts has a new law allowing adoptees a copy of their original birth certificate.Who May Apply? Beginning December 5, 2007, only certain individuals may apply to RVRS for a copy of a birth record established priort o an adoption (without first obtaining a court order). Access is limited by state law to the following individuals: Adoptees who were born in Massachusetts on or before July 14, 1974. An adult child (18 years or older) of a deceased parent who was an adoptee born in Massachusetts on or before July 14, 1974. The parent or legal guardian of a child (under 18 years of age) whose deceased parent was an adoptee born in Massachusetts on or before July 14, 1974. If you don't have the forms/info you may print them out from this website: http://www.mass.gov/Eeohhs2/docs/dph...n_app_form.pdf Once you have a birth name(s) a different kind of search begins. The site below has some tips: Tips on how to find birthmother after you have seen or have a copy of your original birth certificate. I am a member of Ancestry.com if require further assist. Best Wishes, Carol ![]()
