Arrow Can anybody answer me a couple questions for my search?

Where do I begin in searching for b-mom or family? I may post with isrr but before I do that I wanted to try and get the non id info from the county I was born in or at least my original b-certificate. That is another question I have. Is the original b-certificate and the one my adopted parents have different? I thought that it was the only one ever made. Would my original birth certificate have My b-parents name on it? I went to the county courts web site but I got lost. When I went to childworld it was not helpful. Also I think they need info that I just don't have. I mean I know absolutly nothing. I know the city and state I was born in and the day. Thats it. I don't know the hospital, the adoption agency, names or anything. Do I even have enough info to start a search? becasue... I live quite a ways from the city I was born in so its not like I can just get up and drive there and look around and start asking questions. Also in the registery...is it asking for the number on the birth certificate I have now. Or the original one that I never knew existed? Was I supposed to use the same user name at the registry that I use here? I assumed that it did not matter. Also, I was reading through here one day and I saw someone write that somene contacted them under false pretences pretending to be long lost family. But she also wrote that she had recently found her b-daughter I think it was. Does anybody know what I'm talking about or did I just think that up? That is sooo frightening . Does that happen frequently? I hope not. The whole thing is already difficult (for a lack of better words) enough to deal with. If anyone took the time to read through this jibberrish...Thanks! If you have any info for me I would appreciate it.

Hey there -
I don't know a thing about California (I'm just assuming that's where you were born since it's on your profile?) but I know many out there do...I would guess there is a state registry to start with first, and they'd be able to tell you which agency, hospital, I think.

Give a shot posting this over on the "California Adoption Records" page - the Search Guru over there will have the California Info for you that you need.

The Search Guru may know if the birth certificates on your amended cert and your original cert are the same - some states they are.

Good luck!
