WE AS ADOPTEES need to come together as a DISCRIMINATED segragated people, and turn to the Civil RIGHTS union! I am from Florida, and have send a request to my State Civil Rights office, and the Attorney General.

MY SINGLE voice may be DISregarded (TIME will tell), but IF ALL of us, FROM EVERY State appeal TOGETHER...HOW can we be ignored?

These records are OUR 'Birth Right'! WHY should ANY 0ne have the 'RIGHT' to deny or OBJECT to OUR RIGHT to KNOW?

I'm not that 'computer literate' to do it, but if ANYONE on this forum knows how to draw up a petition for all of us to sign, and forward to the UNITED States Attorney General & Civil RIGHTS Union...I will gladly be the FIRST to sign it!

I agree with you 100%! But like you I am a computer illiterate. There has to be an adoptee out there that is not only computer literate but also maybe a lawyer etc.?

THANK YOU! I have printed the petition, and I will do EVERY thing in my power to get as many signatures as I can. And, I HOPE that EVERY one on this website will come together for the GOOD of ALL of us, and do the same. Do I send these to you, or WHO? I live in Florida, but, I want to make this a FEDERAL case, as well as state.

If I get other people to sign one petitions, can we use photocopies to send to one of the two governments, or do they BOTH have to be originals.

The Federal ones need to be sent to the address found at the end of this page. Lewis Kincaid is the maker of this petition and is currently working with a State Senator from the State of Nevada whom he will forward all Federal and Nevada State Petitions too.You will need to find a State Legislator that you could work with for your own State. Then when you reach a desired amount of filled out and signed forms agreed upon with that State Legislator then you would turn all of the petitions for your state in to that person. If you have problems locating someone in your state, you can do a search on the web under that certain state or email me and I will do my best to locate an address and or phone number for you.

WE THE PEOPLE, BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE FUNDAMENTAL BIRTHRIGHT TO KNOW THEIR BIOLOGICAL HERITAGE AND HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO THEIR ORIGINAL BIRTH RECORDS,WHETHER IT BE THE ADOPTEE, BIRTH PARENT, OR ADOPTIVE PARENT.

WE URGE EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF GOVERNMENT, ON THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL TO:

1. LEARN ABOUT THE FAR-REACHING EFFECTS OF ADOPTION ON ADOPTEES, BIRTH PARENTS, AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS - FOR GENERATIONS TO COME; AND

2. SUPPORT MORE ENLIGHTENED AND FAIR LEGISLATION FOR LEGALLY OPENING OF SEALED ADOPTION RECORDS; AND

I mentioned in my original post on this thread, that I have emailed the Attorney General in my State (Florida).

I received a response from his office, directing me to another link. People in Florida, should look into this link, and MAYBE if enough of us show the same interest in accessing our adoption records, REGARDLESS of WHATEVER reason...MAYBE we will be heard.

In this website, there is an email address that is probably a GOOD place to send these petitions in Florida.

Check out the following link...(http://www.adoptflorida.com/)[/url]. Other States, try the link using YOUR state, instead of Florida. NOT sure if it will work for ALL States.

See what you think, and EVERY one who is interested, we can ALL petition together by emailing the petition above, to the same email address AT THE SAME TIME. IF that doesn't at least open a door for us, then we will have to go another route.

ANY thing is WORTH a try! WHAT else have we got to lose?

I think your really on to something here!!!I hope I can help..Let me know as soon as possible...like you I to hail from a backwords thinking state!Of course the great state of california would never admit that it is your birthright to know what your heritage is. i am very new at this computer game but learning fast!!!

I agree 100% as well. my adoption agency said it would cost $500 to put a note in the "file" and if my ** wanted to contact me they would give her the note. I want to meet her but if not then I just want medical info, no one seems to be able to help me. I am also computer illiterate but I'm learning.
Please send me the info on the web site for the Attorney General and I wll sign it with BIG LETTERS.
